KARACHI: Human resource training urged

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, March 16: Stressing the importance of training, speakers at a function on Thursday said the progress of a nation depended on the development of human resources in the country.

They were speaking at the concluding ceremony of a two-day special course on Labour Management Relations organized for the Pakistan Army by the National Institute of Labour Administration Training (NILAT).

Citing examples from the Far East Asian countries, they said Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, etc had invested heavily in the training and skill development of their human resources and they had, within a few years, achieved new economic development goals with their economies reaching new heights.

They stressed that Pakistan should also invest heavily in human resource development by providing skill development trainings to its work force if it wanted to progress in the real sense.

They said the situation in the present 21 century had become more critical, demanding and challenging. The world had become a global village and one had to compete globally, they added.

They said every organization should ensure that its workers were updated in knowledge and skills.

Later, certificates were distributed among the 22 participating officers of the levels of colonel and major.
