Silver League fixtures rained off

Published March 16, 2006

LAHORE, March 15: Lahore Lions and Islamabad Leopards were awarded two points each as their National One-day Regional Silver League match was washed out at the LCCA ground on Wednesday.

Tuesday’s heavy rain had left the LCCA Ground completely saturated and forced the officials to finally called off the match at 1.30pm.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Islamabad: The remaining two fixtures in the same league were also washed out.

The clash between Karachi Dolphins and Quetta Bears was abandoned without a ball being bowled as the overnight rain had left the pitch and square at the Diamond Cricket Ground wet and umpires Z. I. Pasha and Siddique Khan ruled early that there would be no play.

The match between Abbottabad Rhinos and Hyderabad Hawks also drew blanked as rain pelted down intermittently at the Abbottabad Stadium.

Umpires Ahmed Shahab and Kaukab Butt were left with no alternative, but to call off the game.
