KARACHI, March 15: The Export Promotion Bureau has promised full government support to institutions impacting vocational training in different skills. Speaking at a prize and diploma distribution ceremony of the Pakistan Bedwear Designing and Training Institute on Tuesday evening, EPB Vice-Chairman Zafar Mehmood said that there was a greater need for developing human skills.
He said at present many industries faced a lot of hardship in getting proper and trained manpower and this was also adversely affecting country’s exports. Therefore, Mr Mehmood said, all-out support would be given to such training institutions that could produce skilled manpower.
Earlier, the Pakistan Bedwear Exporters’ Association Chairman Shabir Ahmed asked the EPB to carry out performance audit of such institutions which were established out of the Export Development Fund.
He said at present the institute had 102 students but the number could not be increased as the institute lacked sufficient space. Mr Ahmed suggested that once the performance audit was carried out it could help the EPB ascertain the working of these institutions.
