Trainer’s licence withdrawn

Published March 12, 2006

LAHORE, March 11: The Lahore Race Club (LRC) stewards took strong exception to an incident of misconduct and indiscipline of trainer Taqueer Ahmad and has withdrawn his licence.

His entry into club premises has also been banned for six months.

When the incident was brought to the notice of the LRC chairman Tariq Aziz, he at once asked the stewards to give the licensee exemplary punishment.

Since his taking over as LRC chairman, he has taken extra measures to enforce strict discipline and cleanse racing of undesirable elements.

With the result racing has won its lost glory and the elite is seen at the sports once known as king of the sports.— A.G.
