SUKKUR, March 11: Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani of the Sindh High Court, Sukkur circuit bench, on Friday issued notices to 12 people for holding jirga in which an alleged thief was awarded punishment of chopping his hand.

Those summoned by the court on March 13 are: The additional advocate-general, Sindh, RPO Sukkur, DPO Shikarpur, Shikarpur SP (investigation) and Agha Sanaullah Durrani.

Advocate Shabbir Shar said in the petition that jirga was held in Shikarpur which was presided over by Agha Sanaullah Durrani advocate.

It may be mentioned that some 15 days ago Ameer Bux Bekari and Arbab Bekari had alleged that Jinsar Bekari had rustled their buffalo.

Both the parties went to Agha Sanaullah Durrani and requested him to hold jirga to resolve the dispute.—Correspondent
