NAWABSHAH: Shortage of water in canal hits many areas

NAWABSHAH, March 11: The executive engineer of the Dad irrigation division has announced a rotation programme due to water shortage up to 50 per cent in the Rohri canal.

According to a hand-out issued by the Sindh irrigation department here on Saturday, the Thul branch and its system (Malwah distributary), Qazi Ahmed minor, Jado minor, Sujawal distributary, Jamal Shah distributary, Jan Mohammad minor, Waryam minor Rein distributary and its system (Rahib Shah distributary), Bilawal Zardari minor, Chanessar minor, Attur minor, Khair Shah minor and Khadhar distributary and its system would remain opened from March 10 to 17.

The Thul branch and its system (Mir Rukan minor), Talhi minor, Kahkat minor, Manaharo minor, San minor, Pabjo minor, Rein distributary and its system, Sakrand distributary, Mangio minor, forest minor, Dalel Dero minor, Zardari minor, Shahbaz minor, Batho minor and Nakur distributary would remain opened from March 17 to 24, said the hand-out.

NADRA: A billing machine will soon be installed in Nawabshah where consumers will deposit their utility bills at any time by using their CNICs.

This was stated by the deputy director of the NADRA Sukkur region, Major Syed Nihal Ahmed while talking to reporters at the NSRC office here on Saturday.
