By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, March 9: A helicopter of the International Committee of the Red Cross crashed near Muzaffarabad during a relief operation on Thursday. The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

The ICRC said two crew members of the Puma helicopter, pilot Michael Church and flight engineer Peter Vanvyk, both South African nationals, suffered fractures in the incident.

The helicopter took off from Abbottabad for Bindi in Azad Jammu and Kashmir to supply food to the earthquake-hit area, however, it crashed when it was flying over the helipad near Muzaffarabad airport at 12pm.
