International bridge from April 13

KARACHI, March 9: Balijee International bridge championship which was schedule to be organised at Lahore Gymkhana from March 23 will now be held from April 13 to 16 at the same venue, Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) said on Thursday.

Besides four Indian teams, China and Egypt have also been invited to feature in the championship. All the four Indian teams have confirmed their participation, while China and Egypt are yet to confirm.

Overall, around 22 teams will be featuring in the championship with Indian ‘A’ defending their crown.

Leading participant teams from Karachi are Data Steel, National champions Candyland, Allana, Chandna, Havoc and Four Bidders.

Top teams from Lahore included Bukharis, Fateh, while teams from Islamabad will be Tariq Aces, Umair IV, Aces.

Initially, teams will figure in the Pairs events and it will be followed by team competition which will be played on the round robin league.—APP
