Davis Cup camp rescheduled

ISLAMABAD, March 9: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has rescheduled training camp from March 10. It will now start from Monday. The camp is being organised in preparation for the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone (Group-1) tie against India to be played at Mumbai from April 7 to 9.

The training camp has been rescheduled “as leading players will be participating in the All Pakistan Lawn Tennis Invitational tournament being held at Officer Club Gujrat,” according to a PTF spokesman.

The camp will comprise four senior players and as many juniors. The seniors are: Aisamul Haq Qureshi, Aqeel Khan, Asim Shafik and Jalil Khan, while the juniors are Omer Babar, Khurram Nazir, Tanveer Ashiq and Yasir Khan.

Rashid Ahmed Malik has been nominated as coach/non-playing captain while Naeemullah Khan will be the manager.

Mr Zahid Zafar has been named as camp commandant.—APP
