KARACHI: Six rockets found in Baldia

KARACHI, March 9: Six rockets were found on a vacant plot in a Baldia Town locality on Thursday. Police said the rockets were found near the Gulshan-i-Ghazi powerhouse. The bomb disposal squad of the police reached the spot and examined the rockets.

A senior police officer said the rockets were useless and could not explode. However, the rockets were taken into custody by the squad for further investigation.

ACCIDENTS: Three people were killed in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Thursday.

A teenaged boy was hit by a truck near Daud Chowrangi in Landhi. He suffered serious head injuries. He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He was identified as Sher Mohammad, 18. The truck driver escaped.

In another accident, two trucks collided head on near Korangi Crossing resulting in the death of two persons and injuries to five others.

Police said a truck collided with the other one coming from the opposite direction near Korangi Crossing. One of the truck drivers, Bashir Ahmed, 30, and one of the cleaners, Mukhtar, 24, died on the spot.

The injured were shifted to the JPMC. The bodies were handed over to their respective families after autopsy.
