LAHORE, March 8: Sana Javed’s century failed to save Lahore from 13-run defeat against Karachi in the second national women championship on Wednesday.

Sana scored 131-ball 108, but Lahore were all out for 242 chasing a target of 256. She slammed 12 fours and one six.

A fine opening stand of 93 by Kiran Balouch (71, 10 fours, 105 balls) and Urooj Khan (44, six fours, 65 balls) helped Karachi to pile up 255 for four wickets.

KARACHI 255-4, 50 overs (Kiran Baluch 71, Urooj Khan 44, Shaiza Khan 37 not out, Batool 28, Sana Mir 21 not out; Sharheen Khan 2- 39).

LAHORE 242 in, 48 overs (Sana Javed 108, Taskeen Qadeer 50, Shamsa Hashmi 30, Shumaila Mushtaq 21; Shaiza Khan 3-48, Urooj Khan 2-44).
