KARACHI, March 8: Three ships carrying containers and diesel oil arrived at outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday. Berth occupancy fell to 56 per cent as only five ships, Sealand Independence, Multan, Tai King, Bulk Seahawk and Mar Riana, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, wheat and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 55,225 tons comprising 30,170 tons of import and 25,055 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was slow as Sealand Independence left the port. Three ships, Gallant Wave, Mare Lycium and Warbah, were expected to take berths at QICT and Fotco Terminal.

Two ships, Silver One and Minght Michlaes, with coke and wheat were due to arrive on Wednesday, while Al-Wajba, Maya and Chemroad Wing were due on Thursday.
