KARACHI, March 8: Six ships carrying general cargo, chemicals and to load rice are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where nine ships were berthed to unload and load containers, palm oil and molasses.

They are: Jota Teguh, Mol Silver Fern, Corn Thaikos, APL Dalian, and Hyundai Sprinter to unload and load containers, Pelagos, to unload general cargo, San Carlos, to load molasses and Bunga Melatisatu to offload palm oil.

Sailing on other hand was slow as three vessels, Kota Mertdesa, Hanjin Busan and Nicolas-S departed, while Altius, APL Dalian, Bunga Melatisatu, Hyundai Sprinter, Mercos Ruhunu, Kota Wijaya and Kota Teguh are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity was brisk where the total tonnage of 0.133m tons comprising 36,343 tons of export cargo including 2,629 tons of rice and 96,825 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Al-Marwah, with chemicals, QC Wisdom, Wan Hai-311, with containers, Gulf Pride to load 5,500 tons of rice, Lynx and BBC Gibraltar, with general cargo.
