SWABI, March 4: The Swabi Model School, which would be constructed by the NWFP government, is to cost Rs200 million, it is learnt. A 100-kanal land has already been acquired free of cost for the project from the Kotha College.

The school would be constructed on the pattern of the Abbottabad Model School.

Sources said that efforts were underway to provide facilities in all government schools in the district.

They said that talks were also underway to establish a high school on the site of the abandoned elementary college at Anbar.

They said that for the provision of facilities the government needed funds, and added that the provincial education minister Maulana Fazal Ali, who also belongs to the Swabi district, has directed the acceleration of work on the Kernel Sher Shaheed Cadet School.
