KARACHI: Architect Mistri dies

KARACHI, March 4: Minoo Pirojshah Mistri, 94, a noted architect of the city, who had designed the monument of Tin Talwar at Clifton, died of cardiac arrest early on Saturday morning.

He leaves behind his wife, Deena M Mistri, a former principal of BVS Parsi High School, and two sons -– Farhad and Afshad Mistri. His funeral procession was taken out from the residence of his niece Zubin Mavalvala in Mehmoodabad, and last rituals were performed at the Tower of Silence.

Two memorial meetings for Mr Mistri will be held on Sunday at 4pm and at 7pm at D-4, Avari Colony, Parsi Gate, Mahmoodabad. Mr Mistri was a graduate in architecture from Mumbai, and had designed many famous buildings of Karachi.
