Hotel’s occupancy falls

KARACHI, March 2: About 75 guests staying in the Marriott hotel were moved to the nearby Pearl Continental following the suicide car bomb blast near here on Thursday, it is learnt.

Talking to Dawn, a Marriott official said that the occupancy at the hotel was 98 per cent on Wednesday and it fell to 50 per cent after the blast. The official said repair work had started and the hotel would start functioning normally within 48 hours.

Sources said other five-star hotels in the area might also have witnessed a drop in their occupancy.—Staff Reporter
