HYDERABAD, March 2: Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has exhorted fine art institutes to promote the culture of Sindh. He was speaking at inauguration ceremony of the ceramics and pottery studio set up by the Institute of Art and Design, University of Sindh, and a training workshop organized by the institute for imparting training to its students.

The vice-chancellor said that art was soul of any society and that artists were a real asset of the country and the province. He said that in rural areas of the province art had an economic aspect which helps reduce poverty. He urged the people to pay frequent visits to remote areas and see the beauty created by artists. He said that our artists needed true appreciation from art lovers and that a little encouragement would help them in producing traditional art and craft.

Faculty of arts dean Dr M.Qasim Bughio said artists, writers and poets were gifted people who use their hands and head to create thought, emotions and highlight world problems on canvases and papers.
