KARACHI, March 2: The city government on Wednesday initiated a drive against profiteer milk-sellers selling milk at rates more than the officially prescribed ones in the Lyari Town.

The city government had recently warned milk traders including wholesalers, middlemen and retailers against increasing milk price. A meeting between the city government and milk traders with the EDO Enterprise and Investment Promotion, Syed Abid Ali Shah, in the chair had decided that prices of milk could only be increased after prior approval of the city government, said a handout. However, it added that some milk-sellers were selling the commodity at exorbitant rates in complete violation of the agreement.—PPI
