KARACHI, March 2: Three ships to load and offload containers and furnace oil were berthed at QICT and Fotco Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, diesel oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as seven ships, Asian Trader, CGM Kingston, Elka Vassilika, Gulf Horezon, Shekou Sea, Bulk Sea Hawk and Hua Shan Hai, were busy in loading and unloading containers, diesel oil, furnace oil, seeds, wheat, and iron ore.

Brisk cargo handling activity was witnessed at the wharves where a cargo volume of 96,922 tons comprising 88,456 tons of import and 8,466 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Sealand Mariner, Asian Trader and Gulf Horizon left the port while CMA CGM Kingston was due to leave. Seven ships, Ibn Sena, Yanaseni, Keefan, Tai King, Multan, Banglar and Giovanni Dellia, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
