KARACHI, March 1: The Catholic Association, Karachi, has urged the government to ensure protection of religious places of the Christian community in the country.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the president of CAK, Herbert Fernandes, sought protection of religious places of Christians against attacks which, according to him, were triggered by the publication of blasphemous sketches in European newspapers.
He said the Christian community in Pakistan should not be identified with the West. “We are Pakistani first and Pakistani last as we shoulder with our Muslim brethren all the problems faced by them,” he added.
