LAHORE, Feb 28: Defending champions DHA, Wapda, Army and Railways made it to the last four in the national rugby championship on Tuesday. DHA faced a tough fight from Police before winning 26-19. DHA were 19-12 behind to Police before bouncing back and winning.
In the end, a slight irregularity marred the proceedings. At 19-17 Police were leading and reminded the referee that the scheduled time had been completed. However, the referee said timeout was still remaining.
Wapda remained unbeaten in pool ‘A’ to book a place.
On Tuesday Wapda played three matches. First they overcame Railways 26-14, edged past Punjab 19-14 and finally brushed aside NWFP 23-14.
Army, thrashed Sindh 62-0 to confirm a place. It was the biggest margin of victory of the championship.
Railways and Punjab locked horns, but the former carved out 19-17 win to cruise into the last four.
