ABC provides Rs4.1bn relief

KARACHI, Feb 28: Members of the American Business Council of Pakistan (ABC) and their parent companies have to date raised relief funds and relief goods mainly medicines, cumulatively exceeding Rs 4.1 billion, for victims of the Oct 8 earthquake.

The earthquake relief efforts were given a major boost in November 2005 after some members of US President’s advisory committee on South Asia Earthquake Relief Fund (including CEOs of some ABC members’ parent companies, visited Islamabad and the affected areas, says a press release of the council.
