KARACHI: Two policemen gunned down

KARACHI, Feb. 27: Two policemen were gunned down by unknown persons in Gulberg on Monday evening. SI Kamil Raza and head constable Asif Sindhu was going to his home in civvies when they were targeted near Power House on Shah Waliullah Road, TPO Gulberg Aleem Jafri told Dawn.

Hospital sources said that both the police officials suffered multiple bullet wounds in head and chest.

Deceased Kamil Raza and Asif Sindhu were posted at the Gabol Town police post in Gulberg Town. Kamil Raza was part of the police team carrying out Karachi operation, police said.

On Feb 4, Sub-inspector Mohammad Bukhsh, 45, posted at Sadar was gunned down near his house in Korangi.

Since the present government came to power, over 30 policemen associated with Karachi operation have been killed.
