KARACHI, Feb 27: A record cargo volume of 0.107 million tons comprising 0.083m tons of import and 0.024m tons of export tonnage was handled during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, five more ships also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berthing activity was brisk as four ships carrying containers, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals were accommodated berths. Berth occupancy rose to 67 per cent as six ships, Natolia, Lissy Schulte, Docomo, Fair Spirit, Anette Kosan and Alam Pinter, were busy in loading and loading containers, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and coke.

Sailing was slow as only Nataila left the port while Lissy Schulte and Anette Kosan were due to depart.

Eight ships, Gulf Horizon, Amanat, Shekou Sea, Tai King, Multan, Banglar, Hua Shan Hai and Bulk Sea Hawk, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
