National Rugby from Monday

LAHORE, Feb 26: Nine teams have confirmed their participation in the 2nd National Rugby championship to be held at the DHA stadium on Monday and Tuesday.

President of the Rugby Union of Pakistan, Riaz Fatyana, said on Sunday that first time four departmental teams would be taking part.

He said Army, Wapda, Police and Railways raised their outfits to participate in the two-day event. He said RUP has provided technical assistance to all the departments.

Defending champions DHA and four provinces are also taking part in the competition.

The teams have been divided into pool ‘A’ and ‘B’.

The pool ‘A’ comprising Wapda, Railways, Punjab, Balochistan and NWFP while the ‘B’ consisting Army, Police, DHA and Sindh.
