Call to release protesters

Published February 27, 2006

LAHORE, Feb 26: Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia said here on Sunday that his party was ready to offer any sacrifice for the honour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

At a meeting organised by the party’s ulema wing, he said arrests and use of force had exposed the negative thinking of the rulers and now people wont let them stay in power. He demanded immediate release of all those arrested on account of taking part in the anti-cartoons protests.

The PPP leader said Ms Bhutto would return home during the current year and the news had unnerved the rulers.
