Bang On Target should atone for last outing
KARACHI, Feb 25: Seven-year-old mare Bang On Target is fancied to make amends by sprinting to victory in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
With jockey Mohammad Essa aboard, the mare settled for third place in the last meeting on Jan 29.
Drawn in the six furlongs third race of the programme with six contestants in fray, she is our day’s best and promises to oblige punters. The race is restricted for Pakistani horses in class 111 and 1V.
Filly Makina and colt Excalibur are strong contenders to pose challenge to the Bang On Target.
A card of eight races, five going over a distance of five furlongs and three to six, has been chalked out for the day. The first race begins at 1.00pm.
Tom Cruise who had a dismal run in the recent past is tipped to land the opener. He should be chased by Jaguar and Samroon for second and third place.
Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara’s mare, Aie Bahar, who was beaten to second position by Blue Breeze in the last outing, is poised to grab the six furlongs second race.
In a pack of seven contestants Fly To The Sky and Lucky Step should settle for places.
The fourth race to be contested over six furlongs should see filly Butter Fly winning honours by finishing ahead of Kicking King and Bilal Choice.
Azam the Great is likely to dominate the next race which has a field of 11 runners. He should be followed by Chand Aiya and Laurel.
Eager Saint should gallop to victory in the sixth race while Canon Ball and Victory Symbol should win the last two races.
Four-year-old colt, Victory Symbol, failed to show his prowess in the last meeting following cancellation of race on Wednesday. The colt was public fancy to grab honours in the previous meeting but was denied an opportunity.
