KARACHI, Feb 25: Hameed Afridi’s hat trick spurred Young Ansari to a 3-2 victory over Malir National in the KASB Premier League soccer at Sixteen Star ground on Friday.

Although Malir National got off to fine start with a Mairajuddin strike in the 10th minute, Hameed went on a rampage when he equalised 10 minutes later before hammering in twice in the 24th and 52nd minutes to complete his treble.

Mohammad Asif reduced the margin for Malir National in the 54th minute but could not equalise for the losers.

In another match at the same venue, Baloch Mohammadan Malir defeated Azam Nagar 3-1.

Mohammad Umar put Baloch Mohammadan Malir ahead with 25-metre free kick with the game just two minutes old, while Kamran got the consolation goal for Azam Nagar in the 24th minute.

Baloch Mohammadan Malir again moved ahead with an Abid Ali goal in the 36th minute, while Abdul Majeed completed the rout, finding the cage in the 54th minute.

Baloch Mohammadan Malir are now tied with Young Ansari and LLWC at second place having 23 points.
