KOHAT, Feb 25: The district judiciary arranged a training workshop for readers and staff of lower courts here on Saturday to acquaint them with guidelines and principles approved by the Peshawar High Court for the preparation of case files.
Speaking on the occasion, Kohat District and Sessions Judge Syed Yahya Gilani asked the staff to keep serial and date wise record of every case in a file so that the lawyers and judges could easily read them during hearing.
The order sheet should be neatly typed and signed by the judge concerned with full detail of the case, he said.
He informed the participants of the workshop that according to new rules civil and criminal suits had been categorized as A and B, respectively, which were earlier called ‘basta alif’ and ‘basta bay’. He said rules should be followed strictly.
He advised the participants to give proper letter number and mention date on every page of the file and ask the judge for help, if needed.
Pamphlets about various rules and orders were distributed among the participants.
The function was also attended by a group of final year students of Khyber Law College, Peshawar, and its Principal Akhtar Ali Khan.
