Wapda triumph

LAHORE, Feb 24: Wapda Gujranwala and Sanat Nagar Club entered semifinals of 5th All-Punjab Mian Badaruddin Memorial football tournament at Iqbal Park Sports Complex on Friday.

Wapda beat PEL 3-0 while Sanat struck twice in second session to edge out Bata Club. Wapda led the first half 1-0. Tanvir Ahmed drew first blood in the 14th minute.

Arif made it 2-0 in the 48th minute while Manzoor Ali completed the rout scoring a goal in the 75th minute.

Sanat and Bata were goalless in the first session.

Striker Amir Ali crowned solo effort in 33rd minute and midfielder Mohammad Arif made it 2-0 in the 60th minute.

Youth Mirpur will take on Pency Club and Wapda Gujranwala will clash with Sanat Nagar Club in semifinals on Saturday.
