HYDERABAD, Feb 24: The district government has banned entry of big and small buses from the City Gate Hotel into the city from February 26. A spokesman for the district government said here on Friday that the step had been taken to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the city.
He said that all route permits issued earlier had been cancelled and new route permits had been issued.
He said that in the first phase, traffic within the city would be from Kohinoor Chowk to Haider chowk via Sher Singh road while other routes for Kohinoor chowk would be from the circular building to Lady Dufferin hospital.
BISE: The controller of examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad has announced that those students who have cleared their higher secondary certificate part-II (intermediate) supplementary examinations 2005 and wish to improve their grade in part-I and II (class-XI and XII) in the annual examination for the year 2006, should submit their applications through their respective colleges for improvement of grade.
He said that these applications should be submitted by March 15, along with Rs500 normal fees, whereas applications could also be submitted by March 25 with late fee of Rs600, by April 15 with late fee of Rs700 and by May 15 with late fee of Rs800.
The controller said that incomplete applications would be straight away rejected.
BANGLE UNION: The general secretary of the Hyderabad Glass Bangle Mazdoor Ittehad Union, Siraj Gadi, has said that glass bangle manufacturing units are openly violating labour laws and workers are being deprived of all legal facilities.
In a statement issued here on Friday, he said the Sindh Labour Welfarw Department had totally failed to implement laws in the bangle industry despite repeated complaints.
He said that workers had been left at the mercy of factory owners.
He demanded that the government should strictly enforce labour laws in the bangle industry and workers be provided all facilities.
