KARACHI, Feb 24: Two ships carrying containers and coke were berthed at QICT and IOCB during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Meanwhile, five more ships with containers, chemicals and wheat also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 56 per cent as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil, seeds, iron ore and coke.

A cargo volume of 49,356 tons comprising 28,121 tons of import and 21,235 tons of export was handled.

Sailing was active as Maersk Tangier, Kia Waleed, Mar Reina and Eburna left the port while Wester Moor, Deila and Tomi Wakka were due to depart.

A cargo carrier, Shekou Sea, was due to arrive at the port while Lissy Schulte, San Clemente, Nataila, Docomo, Fair Spirit and Taiking were expected to reach on Saturday.
