Ansar to defend title

KARACHI, Feb 23: Ansar Mehmood will defend his title when the Sindh Amateur golf championship tees off on Friday at the Karachi Golf Club.

“The tournament will be played over 54 holes and apart from the main amateur event, various subsidiary competitions would also be held concurrently at the same venue,” SGA secretary Asad I. A. Khan told a press conference on Tuesday.

The two-day Sindh seniors championship would be played over 36 holes on Friday and Saturday while the Sindh juniors championship would also take place on the same dates.

The secretary further said that Sindh veterans and Sindh ladies events would both be played over 18 holes on Sunday.

Handicap restrictions are being applied to promote quality golf - for the amateurs only handicap 12 and below players will be eligible to compete, whereas for the seniors, it will be a handicap of 14 and for Veterans 18 and Ladies 12.—PPI
