MULTAN, Feb 23: A 25 acres piece of land on the premises of Bahauddin Zakariya University has been allocated for the Multan College of Arts building.

This was stated by BZU vice-chancellor Prof Dr Naseer Ahmed Khan while briefing reporters on the ongoing university projects here on Thursday. The VC said that former MCA principal and architect Zafar Gillani had been assigned the task to design the college building.

He said that various disciplines of performing arts, including the film making, would also be introduced once the MCA housed in its own building. An amount of Rs9 million had also been earmarked for construction of a separate building for the Seraiki Research Centre.

The centre, he said, would be upgraded to perform a pivotal role in promotion of the Seraiki language, culture and literature, besides appreciating heritage of this part of the country. He pledged that the SRC would not be shifted from its present premises until construction of its own building.
