LARKANA, Feb 23: Activists of the People’s Party Parliament-arians took out a protest procession here on Thursday against publication of blasphemous cartoons. Led by party MNA Mohammad Anwar Bhutto and MPA Munwar Ali Abbasi, they marched up to the Jinnahbagh.

Speaking on the occasion, they condemned the indifferent attitude of the European press and governments. They said the publication of the sacrilegious caricatures had hurt feelings of Muslims around the world. They called for severing ties with countries where the blasphemous cartoons had been published and boycotting their goods.

Meanwhile, another procession was taken out to protest against attacks on shrines in Iraq. Participants of the procession marched through main roads of the city and burnt tyres at the Pakistan chowk and outside the Jinnahbagh. They also demonstrated outside the press club.
