KARACHI: Probe team delaying burial: Body in plane’s gear

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 23: The identity of the corpse found from the landing gear of a PIA flight on Feb 10, still remains a mystery. The unidentified man had apparently managed to bypass all the security checks at the Jeddah Airport and squeezed himself in the landing gear of the PIA Haj flight 3356.

The burial of the body was delayed on the request of the Saudi officials who according to police were expected to visit Karachi to examine the body as part of their investigations.

However, since Feb 10, police have twice requested the Edhi morgue to delay the burial, but so far no one has arrived from Jeddah in this connection, DSP airport told Dawn.

Under normal circumstances, we wait for three days to ascertain the identity in such cases, Rizwan Edhi of the Edhi Foundation said.

We will keep on delaying the burial of the body till further orders, DSP Haseeb Baig said.
