Double strike by Danyal

KARACHI, Feb 22: Lyceum School fired in three quick first half goals to reach Karachi United school soccer semifinals after a 3-0 victory over Army Public School at DHA Football ground on Wednesday.

Ather Ahmed gave a flying start to Lyceum School, opening the scoring in the seventh minute while Osman Bin Naseem, the Man-of-the-Match, doubled the lead two minutes later.

Omar Mukhtiar completed the tally in the 11th minute.

In another quarterfinal, two-goal Danyal Alvi and Moiz Salahuddin helped Karachi Grammar School (KGS) storm into last four after a convincing 6-2 triumph over St. Patrick’s School.

Zain Mania of St. Patrick’s opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Danesh Gilani of KGS equalised in the 16th minute.

St Patrick’s again went ahead when Abdullah Pandit found the target in the 22nd minute, while KGS netted the leveller through a Moiz Salahuddin strike in the 27th minute.

Danyal, Man-of-the-Match, slammed home his first in the 41st minute and got his double in the 51st minute, while Moiz grabbed another for his second in the 55th minute. Yasin Ali Bhai sealed the fate of the match with a 65th-minute strike.

KGS face D.A. School and Lyceum play City School Darakshan in the semfinals on Sunday.
