Editor detained
GILGIT, Feb 22: Police detained the chief editor of weekly Sada-i-Gilgit Mr Abdul Lateef, on Tuesday night and freed him on Wednesday after 17 hours.
Mr Lateef was arrested for printing in the latest issue of his weekly an unconfirmed report about the sacking of artistes by the Northern Areas Scouts.
He was released following a meeting between local journalists and Scouts commander Brigadier Tassaduq Hussain.
