SUKKUR, Feb 22: Sindh PML-N acting president Mamnoon Hussain has denied any difference of opinion among component parties of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy, saying they are pursuing a common goal.
He was speaking at a party convention at the residence of district party president Abdul Razzaq Rehmani in New Pind here on Wednesday.
“We have adopted a joint stand on various national and international issues and our struggle is for holding the next general election under an independent election commission,” Mr Hussain said.
He said the ARD had demanded convening an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Countries for taking a joint stand on the issue of blasphemous cartoons.
Mr Hussain said it was his party’s principle stand that the government should sever diplomatic relations with member states of the European Union for hurting the feelings of Muslims. Until these countries apologized, relations with them should not be restored, he said.
He also called for cutting trade relations with the EU countries.
Sindh PML-N general secretary Makhdoom Shahnawaz, additional general secretary Khwaja Tariq Nazeer and other party leaders also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, the PML-N leaders visited different towns of interior of Sindh, including Larkana, Jacobabad, Kandhkot and Shikarpur, and addressed party conventions there.
