Masroor leads from front

KARACHI, Feb 21: Skipper Muhammad Masroor chipped in with a superb 71 as PWD marked a convincing 23-run victory over Deewan Farooq Motors (DFM) in KCCA Inter-departmental cricket league on Monday at KCCA Stadium.

Masroor hammered nine fours and one towering six as the winners posted 269-9 in stipulated 45 overs while batting first.

Besides, Khalid Latif stroked a fluent 48 punctuated with four boundaries while Nasir Aziz (35) and Khurram Manzoor (34) also batted well.

Spinner Adnan Kalim with the figures 4-54 was the most successful bowler for DFM.

Defending the target, PWD restricted their opponents to 246 in the allotted overs, thanks to some good bowling by Naeem Tayyab 3-35 and Iftiqar Ali 2-54.

Shahid Latif (74) was the only player who batted with confidence for the losers.
