GNFC gain full points
KARACHI, Feb 21: A goal in each half by Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Khalid earned maximum points for Ghareeb Nawaz Football Club (GNFC)when they overcame RCD Sports Malir 2-0 on Tuesday in the All-Pakistan Shaheed-e-Millat Khan Liaquat Ali Khan football tournament at Colony Sports Stadium, Malir.
Nawaz struck in the seventh minute of the first half while Khalid doubled the lead in the 63rd minute to ensure a well-earned victory for GNFC. In the other match of the day Drigh Road Union edged out Zico Sports Malir 2-1 in a well-contested encounter. Aqeel gave Drigh Road United a seventh minute lead which was doubled by Rizwan Ahmed 20 minutes later.
Rafique Shad pulled one back four minutes later to make the scoreline 2-1.
Despite frantic efforts from Zico Sports to snatch an equalizer in the second half the Drigh Road Union defence stood firm to make sure of full points.
