KARACHI, Feb 21: Six ships carrying coal and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven ships, Hanjin Busan, Pu He, to unload and load containers, Gardena Ace, to offload vehicles, Asharf Bay to offload general cargo, Caribic, to load export commodities, Exporter-1 to load cement and Swat to offload crude oil.

Five ships, Hanjin Busan, Orient Independence, Poopy, Harima-2 and Gulf Coast departed on Tuesday, while Ashraf, Pu He, Lilac, Thor Captain, Iran Eghbal, APL Orchid, Badulu Valley, Swat, Benefit Wisdom, Caribic, Stella-M and Mercs Ruhunu are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves relatively slow as the total tonnage fell to 66,451 from well over 0.1m tons a day earlier. The export cargo totalled 12,900 tons, which also included 3,753 tons of rice and import cargo 53,551 tons.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Kota Tampan, Jade Trader, Iran Kordestan, Hyundai Future, and Kota Wajar, with containers and Digxian Ghai, with 40,000 tons of cola.
