Railways retain judo title

LAHORE, Feb 19: Railways accumulated 28 points to retain the National women judo championship title on Sunday. Wapda grabbed 23 points to finish at second place while Army settled at third with 20 points.

Zara gave Railways the first gold of the day in 52kg, beating Ambreen Ashiq of Wapda. Bashiran Bibi outclassed Marsia of Army in the 63 kg to win the gold medal for Railways.

Results (finals):

52kg: Zara (Railways) bt Ambreen (Wapda). Irum Shahzadi (Army) and Saher (Punjab) (bronze).

57kg: Gul (Wapda) bt Fazeelat (Army). Beenish Khan (Railways) and Fauzia Khan (Punjab) (bronze).

63kg: Bashiran Bibi (Railways) bt Marsia (Army). Hina Batool(Punab) and Samia Rehman (Wapda) (bronze).

70kg: Nazma Hameed (Army) bt Ashiq (Railways). Madeeha (Sindh) and Saddia (Punjab) (bronze).
