KARACHI: Ijaz urges people to keep rallies peaceful
KARACHI, Feb 19: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Haq on Sunday urged people to adopt an organized way to register their protests against the publication of blasphemous sketches by European press in order to convey an effective message to the world.
He was addressing the ‘Falahe Insaniat Conference’ organized by the Majlis-i-Sotul Islam here on Sunday.
He said if all Muslims of the world got united at one platform, no one could dare to harm them or hurt their feelings.
Islam is the only religion which provides a clear guidance about religion and social affairs. The last sermon of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is a clear message for the humanity.
About the blasphemous material published by a section of western media, he said the act was an attempt to isolate Muslims.
He noted that the French president had condemned the act with the same intentions like that of Muslims while the German prime minister had also condemned it.
He suggested that an extraordinary meeting of heads or foreign ministers of Muslim states be convened in Madina Munawara to convey the message of 54 Islamic countries to the world.
He also suggested dispatch of delegations to the United State and European countries, as well as other countries, with a task to apprise them of the Ummah’s point of view.
Earlier, the conference adopted a resolution to condemn the killing of three Chinese engineers in Hub recently.
Another resolution condemned the publication of blasphemous caricatures while a third one advised the people of Pakistan to register their protest in a peaceful manner.—APP
