LAHORE, Feb 18: Three-goal Tauhid helped Pakistan Air Force (PAF) win the Lake City Low goal Polo Cup, thrashing Punjab Rangers 5-3 1/2 in the final on Saturday. The winners grabbed 2- 1/2 lead in the first chukker as Tauhid struck his first followed by Qaiser Tirmizi. The losers failed to add any goal to their half handicap goal.
Rangers scored the first through Amanat in the second chukker to reduce the lead 2- 1 1/2. An early goal in the third chukker through Shayan Manzoor put Rangers ahead with a slender lead 2 1/2-2.
But it lasted short as PAF slammed in back-to-back goals through Tauhid and Ali Hashim Rizvi to make it 4-2 1/2.
In the fourth chukker,Tahuid scored his third while Abdul Rehman banged home for the losers to complete the scoring.
Three goals each by Noman Wasif and Ahmad Nawaz propelled Punjab Police to earn third place, crushing Nurpur 6-1. Azam Hayat Noon scored the solitary goal of the Nurpur.
