KARACHI, Feb 18: Eight ships carrying containers, chemicals and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships, PONL Beunos Aires, Iran Eghbal, Iron Butterfly, to unload and load containers and general cargo, Al-Marwah, to offload chemicals, Gulf Coast and Harima-2, to load naphtha and fish, were berthed after the departure of five.

The ships, which departed included Kota Teraju, H.S. Discoverer, Nova, Klam Penborg, Hannibel-2, while Sagamore is due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 84,349 tons comprising 34,275 tons of export cargo, including 2,512 tons of rice and 50,074 tons of import cargo, was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Johar, Shalamar, with crude oil, NCC Riyad, with chemicals, Thor Captain, Orient Independence, with containers, Explorer-1, to load cement, Ashaf Bay, to unload general cargo, and Parsian, to offload steel cargo.

The following ships are due on Monday: Hanjin Busan, Pu He, with container, and Gasrodian Ace, to unload 966 vehicles.
