‘No ban on Indian bids for oil assets’

NEW DELHI, Feb 17: Petroleum Minister Amanullah Khan Jadoon said on Friday Indian firms were not barred from bidding for oil and gas assets in his country. India’s Petroleum Secretary M.S. Srinivasan said this week that Indian state-run firms were eyeing stakes in a Pakistani gas firm being privatized. “There is no bar on anybody. Let us work the details, there are some technical issues,” Mr Jadoon told reporters.—Reuters
