Aqeel, Jalil refused Indian visa

By A Sports Correspondent

KARACHI, Feb 16: The Indian High Commission have refused to entertain visa applications of Davis Cuppers Aqeel Khan and Jalil Khan who were scheduled to fly to Delhi on Friday to compete in four-leg ITF Satellite spread over a month.

‘We have submitted our passports and other relevant documents to the Indian High Commission the other day after returning from Taiwan on Monday night but they refused to process the case in a day,’ Aqeel told Dawn.

Aqeel had been a regular visitor to India where he features in ITF Satellite.

The trip could have been beneficial for the Khan brothers as Pakistan is now slated to meet India in the Asia Oceania group one Davis Cup tie in April.

Aqeel is scheduled to leave for Rahim Yar Khan on Sunday where he would defend his title in the Rahim Yar Khan Open hard court championship.
