NEW DELHI, Feb 16: Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam told parliament on Thursday that New Delhi remained committed to its composite dialogue with Pakistan but he urged Islamabad to also keep its part of the bargain and check cross border infiltration.

Addressing a joint session of parliament to kick off its budget session, President Kalam listed the achievements of Prime Minister Mamohan Singh’s government.

“My government has taken several steps to improve our relations with all our neighbours,” he said.

“There has also been good progress in increased people-to people contacts and bilateral trade with all our neighbours, including Pakistan.”

He said the spontaneous outpouring of sympathy and assistance from the people of India for the victims of the earthquake in Pakistan.
