Indian troops kill three in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Feb 14: Security forces in occupied Kashmir killed three militants in a fierce gunfight, the army said on Tuesday. The militants were shot in a battle that erupted late on Monday after they were located during an army and police search operation in northern Baramulla district, said army spokesman V.K. Batra.

The killings occurred in the village of Gujjar Pathi, 40 miles north of Srinagar.

He said they belonged to the Lashkar-i-Toiba.—AFP
